Joining tails and balloons with the Pathfinder panel
- Now that you've created one balloon, the rest will go quick as a flash. I'll show you how to use your first balloon to create your second, and then use the Pathfinder tool to join them together. So if you recall, back in the placements, this first panel actually has three balloons we need to do before we draw that tail. So let's go back to the script and grab that second line of dialog that Ziriza says. We'll highlight that, copy it, and then let's take note of which words are going to be bold. In this case, still alive and slave pits. Back to Illustrator. I'm going to undo the tail we joined, delete that tail. Then I'm going to get the closed arrow tool. I'm going to select both the text and the word balloon. And I'm going to hold down option, I'm going to drag it and hold down option, which makes a copy of both the balloon and the text.
