- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll introduce you to the scissors tool, which is one of the oldest tools in the software that's been with us since version 1.0 and it's still the best path slicing tool that there is. Simple, elegant, awesome and it's going to allow us to get rid of all this extra garbage so that we end up with just these path outlines that we're seeing here. So step one is to select the line that you want to slice. And so I'm going to start with this guy. This outer one is just fine the way it is. This guy though needs to get clipped right at this location here. And so I'm going to go ahead and zoom in. By control space bar clicking, that's a command space bar click on the Mac, make sure by the way that your smart guides are turned on here under the view menu, you should see a check mark as we're seeing right here.
