Exporting texture file formats

- Once you have a PSD texture resource created, it makes utilizing your textures a lot easier. You just save out the specific file type and format you need from Photoshop and place it into the design program of choice, be it Illustrator, InDesign or even an app like CorelDRAW. In this movie, I'm going to save out four file formats you can use when working with textures in Illustrator. I'll explain the benefits and limitations of each format. So let's get started. In the previous movie, you saw me take that nice metal photograph from the truck that I shot and then I converted it using curves and then created a nice texture. That texture ended up being named Rust Bucket and you can see my resource file over here, we're in Photoshop, and all the various layers that give me quick access to use this texture.
