Exporting files for use in InDesign

If the artwork that you are creating inside of Illustrator is going to end up inside of a layout inside of Adobe InDesign, well the best way to save your file is to save it as a native Illustrator file. When you do so you preserve the most amount of information in your file and you also get the best results when using transparency in your document. More so, if you have multiple artboards inside of your Illustrator file, when you place that file into InDesign you can use the Show Options feature to actually choose the different artboards. Alternatively, you can choose to save your file as PDF and bring that into InDesign as well and finally if you need to, you can also use the EPS file format and follow the same directions that we used for exporting files for QuarkXPress.
