Infographics can be an incredibly effective way to demonstrate the complex relationships found in data, or the relationships between different people or objects. In this case, we're looking at the relationships between Google, Microsoft, and Apple's products. In this video, I'm going to explain the planning and wireframing process that went into this infographic, which was originally on gizmodo.com. This infographic had no particular dimension constraints, and since there are three factions being represented -- Apple, Microsoft, and Google -- I decided to go with a horizontal layout that was just wider than a square so I could arrange the companies in an equilateral triangle. Each company had its own color: purple for Apple, blue for Microsoft, and red for Google. And where the company is intersected, I drew a box to look like a little bomb or explosion to contain the information about that particular intersection.
