Editing and redefining a symbol
Up until now we have only talked about how to create symbols and create symbol libraries, but chances are you're not only be creating symbols and using them you're going to be editing them at some point as well. That's what we are going to talk about in this movie, how do we modify symbols as we use them inside of illustrator. I'm going to first drag out the Symbols panel that way we have access to that at all times. And you can see that in this document I only have one symbol that I'm currently using and that's the green flower. Just to kind of clean up this dialog over here, I'm going to select all the other ones and just remove them from this. I'm just going to remove everything, but the green flower that way it's only thing that I see there. And so basically the idea here is I needed, you know, this flower and I needed to repeat it several times throughout the design whatever that is that I might be working on.
