- [Narrator] I've said it many times, and I'm going to repeat it again now, drawing is design's best friend. And the analog skill of drawing improves the digital results when you go to build the artwork in vector form. The beauty of iconography is the drawing doesn't always have to be precise. As long as it captures the essence of the idea you wish to build upon, pun fully intended. Let me show you what I mean. So, this was a project I worked on that you're going to see in an upcoming movie in more detail, but these were the thumbnail sketches I created to explore all the ideas to represent in this case I believe it was five icons I created for another agency to represent their services and their creative approach. Now, thumbnail sketching is just that, think of your thumbnail, is it huge? No, it's small. It's about doing a lot of small iterations of ideas. Not doing full blown sketches, but just capturing an essence. How would I represent thought, imagination, vision, global roll…
