Drawing a flexible compound shape

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll take a look at one of the most flexible objects you can make inside Illustrator and that's a compound shape. The great thing about compound shapes is that you can build them from multiple path outlines and you can modify those paths as much as you like well into the future. We're going to start off by creating Groucho's left eye right here and I'm going to zoom in by control space bar or command space bar clicking and then because these are ellipses, rather than tracing them with the pen tool, which is going to take a little bit of effort and by the way it's not going to be quite as accurate as the ellipse tool. For now, let's just go ahead and click and hold on the resident shape tool which by default is a rectangle tool and then select the ellipse tool from the fly out menu. I'm going to go ahead and zoom in a little further here by once again control space bar or command space bar clicking like so. Then, I'll just go ahead and trace this outer…
