Drawing in Illustrator and pasting into InDesign
- [Instructor] Another way to create a custom symbol, or page ornament, is to draw it, first, inside of Illustrator, and, then, copy, and paste it, into InDesign. And, I actually prefer to work this way, for a few reasons. First of all, Illustrator, as we all know, is the more powerful drawing application. Secondly, any Path outline that you copy, in Illustrator, and paste into InDesign, remains a fully editable Path. So, you can make any further modifications you like, directly inside InDesign. And, then, third, in the case of our command key symbol, we can draw it more precisely, without a template. And, let me show you what that looks like. Notice that I have some sample text, which will allow me to properly scale my symbol. And, so, I'm just going to zoom in on it, by control, or command space bar clicking. And, then, I'll grab my Rectangle Tool, from the Shape Tool fly out menu. So, this time, we are going to take a different approach, than we did in the previous movie, and, as I…
