- [Instructor] The specific style we have chosen for this brand character design is what I'd call a sports mascot aesthetic. This look and feel is reflected in most sports brand motifs seen in both college and pro level brand characters. In this movie, I want to showcase how to approach this style, so let's get started. Now, the design you see in front of you was for a college based out of Canada called Chaminade and their brand character design was based off of a Greek mythology of a griffin. That is a lion mixed with an eagle and this was a fun one to create for them. Now, this specific aesthetic utilizes very bold lines and it has chiseled shading, that's at least what I call it, in order to pull off a more dramatic look and feel, meaning it's kind of high contrast in the way it's handled and approached and that's the style I want to go over with and kind of, kind of give you a demystified view of how to go about approaching this regardless of what the specific theme is, so let's…
