- [Instructor] For a quick visual and touchable reference on what the burn quality can be on a standard material, this is a project designed for 1/4 inch plywood, and it includes demonstration of a range of engraving and cutting settings in one document. The importance of this chart is visualizing the results of running the laser at different speeds and at different power settings. The same design file can look very different with settings changes, so it's great to have a test project so you don't have to retest your material. Many machines have preset profiles for different materials so you only have to set up your preferred settings for each one once. As well as the engraved blocks, take care to also engrave the small notes here indicating which setting applies to which block. Under the Speed and Power layer, there are sublayers for each of the rows of power settings. Nested within each layer, each block has a titled speed setting.
