- One of the best ways to use textures in Photoshop is to turn them into a brush. In this movie, I'm going to walk you through how to take a texture or any image for that matter and turn it into a Photoshop brush. The texture that I'm going to take now and create a Photoshop brush with is a house paint texture. I just created this using a brush and some leftover house paint and I painted it actually on light-colored cardboard and then scanned it in and created what you see here. These are in the exercise files for this course so you can actually not only use this specific brush but you can use this source texture set that I included with the exercise files so they're fun to play around with. Now, I want to create a brush with this texture because my specific idea of how to use this texture in the context of a client project...
