- In this isometric illustration I'm gonna show you how I created an illustration of a logging truck in isometric projection. This composition uses cylinder based isometric objects to create several of the elements used in this illustration, and those are a little more difficult to construct than a cube object, for example. Let me show you the various stages I work through to construct all of the isometric elements in this illustration. A more complex form, such as this truck, is aided by using good photo reference to help you create believable 2D artwork you can work from. Now I say believable, because I'm not after photo realism here. Frankly, if I wanted something that realistic and with as much flexibility as I could possibly have, I'd probably not even use Vector, I'd use CGI to render it out.
