Creating an inset reflection

- In this movie, we're going to do some actual shape building. Now the thing about the shape builder tool is that it does permanently modify your path outlines and you never know when you're creating something like this whether you're going to come back to your original paths or not. So it's always a good idea to duplicate them by going back to the layers panel you can see I have a backup on screen. And then clicking on the flyout menu icon, and choosing the duplicate shapes command. And then I'm going to turn off the original shapes layer and I'm going to double click on an empty portion of this layer and I'm going to call this guy main star and I'll change the color to medium blue let's say. And then click okay. Alright, now you just want to select everything by pressing control a or command a on the Mac. And then go ahead and grab that shape builder tool and press the shift key and just marquee everything like so in order to merge it all together. Alright now I want to create the…
