When it comes to new features in Adobe Illustrator, I tend to be an early adopter if for no other reason than to see how the new feature works, or to figure out how I might use it within the context of my own creative process if it's going to benefit me in any way, and ultimately, how the new feature behaves. If I like it, then sure, I'll start using it when appropriate. But in this movie, I'm going to show you how the Freeform Gradient feature works and how I used it to do a unique color exploration on a design I created for a friend. Now the specific design that I'm going to be creating in this move is for a friend who's appeared in a previous DVG Lab. I did one on stylizing the motif based off of an engraved look.
