Creating a blend - Illustrator Tutorial
From the course: Illustrator Quick Tips
Creating a blend
- [Instructor] A blend allows you to blend two or more shapes together, along with their stroke and fill color. Zoom in on the stars in the upper left corner of your art board. Select the Blend tool in your tools panel and click on the small star on the left and then the large star in the middle to blend those two objects together. Still with the blend tool, click on the large star and then the small star on the right. This blends all three objects together. Switch to the Selection tool and select the blend object then shift click on the open path down and to the right of the blend object. Choose Object, Blend, Replace Spine to apply the blend to the new path. Choose Object, Blend, Blend Options and change the spacing from Smooth Color to Specified Steps and turn on your Preview. Decrease the number of steps until you achieve the desired effect that you wish. Click OK.
