Creating an authentic painterly texture

- Digital tools controlled by algorithms aren't always the easiest way to create what you need. When it comes to the context of creating and using textures, analog methods are still a valid option in a digital age. In this movie, I wanna show you how I created painterly textures by hand in order to use them in my designs. When you go texture exploring, you're gonna uncover real-world surface textures and you can capture them via photography. Those are great, those you can use in your design as many of the movies in this course demonstrate. Other types of textures are found textures such as the album cover textures that I uncovered in an old record store. Those are great as well, but not all textures need to be found or discovered. Sometimes you can create the texture you need and sometimes that's the fastest way to get exactly what you need since you're controlling it and it's not handled by the second law of thermodynamics.
