Create a modular grid
- [Instructor] In this example, I'm going to show you how we can create a modular layout grid of rows and columns. I have here a letter size page. It is 8 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches tall. And if I double click on my Artboard tool, it tells me that the current proportions of the page are 0.77. Keep that in mind. We're going to use that information in a moment. Now rather than create my grid by drawing a whole network of guides, I am going to draw a single rectangle and then split that rectangle into multiple rectangles. And I want my rectangle to be the same size as my page. I'm just going to click onto my page, type in the width and height and make sure it's the same as the artboard dimensions. Then come to my Transform panel and make the X and the Y both zero. I'll now come to the Object menu and to Split into Grid. I would like to have a layout grid that has 15 columns, and I want my grid fields created by the rows and columns to be square. So to determine the number of rows, I'm…
