Create a baseline grid - Illustrator Tutorial

Create a baseline grid
- [Instructor] In this example I'm going to show you how we can create a modular grid, along with a baseline grid. And in my example I'm creating it for a trifold brochure, but you can take the principles and apply this to anything. I'm going to start with a blank document. It's going to be a Print document, and it's going to be Letter size, landscape orientation, I'll have my units be in Inches. And while I'm here let's also create a 1/8 of an inch Bleed. OK, let's turn the rulers on, cmd or ctrl + r. First thing I want to do is establish a margin. I'd like to use margins of 1/4 inch. Now there's no place, there's no dialog box where you can go and say I want margins of 1/4 inch. So you can draw them with guides, as I've done before, or, as I'm going to do now, we could create a rectangle and then convert that rectangle to guides. So I'll choose my Rectangle Tool and just click on my page. Now I want the Width to be 10.5, that's 11 minus 1/2 inch, and my Height to be 8, 8.5 minus 1/2…
