- Hi there, welcome back to another edition of Creative Quick Tips. My name is Justin Seeley, and today, I'm going to be showing you how to achieve a painted look on photographs inside of Photoshop CC. Now, this is something that should work on previous versions of Photoshop as well, so anything that is capable of doing smart filters, this should be available. However, you could also repeat this transformation just using static adjustments and not smart filters as well. You'll see as we go along the different steps that could be easily repeated without smart filters, but in this tutorial, I am going to stick with smart filters because of the fact that it makes it easier to do, and it also keeps your Layers panel nice and clean. So, first things first, let's go over here to the right-hand side and unlock the Background layer of whatever document you're working on.
