Converting color to grayscale

While it's great to be working inside of this big world of color there are many times when we actually can only print our file using black so we need to sometimes convert artwork that already uses many colors into something called grayscale just different shades of gray that perhaps represent all these different shades of color. Now using a technology that exists inside of illustrator we actually have a variety of different ways to go about converting color to gray scale and in this movie I want to share two of them with you, one of them is pretty much a one click solution, simply select all of your artwork I am going to press Command+A, I am on a Mac, if you are Windows, that will be Ctrl+A, then go to the edit menu, choose edit colors and then choose convert to grayscale. When you do that you'll see that all of your artwork now gets converted to different shades of gray.
