- [Voiceover] Alright now the problem with the mouth and the teeth is that they look pretty flat, especially when compared with the tracing template, which has a dark edge around the entire mouth, which rather violates what you can do with a linear gradient. And we have this darkness under the teeth, which is why, in this movie, we're going to enhance the gradients using dynamic effects. Because after all, soft effects like drop shadows, and as we'll see, inner glows, are just other forms of gradients inside Illustrator. And so I'll just go ahead and press ctrl + y, or command + y on the mac, to switch back to the preview mode and then I'll click on the mouth shape to select it, and I'll go up to the effect menu, choose Stylize, and then choose this guy right here, inner glow. Now, by default, you're going to brighten things. Notice if I turn on the preview check box, then we might end up seeing some sort of brightness inside the mouth. But the reason we're not seeing a darned thing…
