Join Justin Seeley for an in-depth discussion in this video Changing your rubber-banding settings, part of Illustrator: 2015 Creative Cloud Updates.
- In previous versions of Illustrator CC,…Adobe introduced something called a rubber band preview,…which worked with both the Pin Tool…and also the new Curvature Tool.…However, that control…for the rubber banding feature was just a one click fix,…meaning, you could either turn it on or off for both tools.…Well, now, you have separate controls for individual tools.…Let's check out how that works.…Go to the file menu and choose New.…And, I'll just hit OK to the defaults here.…So, by default, the rubber banding is turned on,…so let me show you exactly what that is, if you don't know.…
I'll grab the Curvature Tool to start off with…and I'll just start drawing out some objects here on screen.…As you can see, I start to make my move…around this object,…I get this rubber banding-like preview indicating…where I'm going with my curve at any given time.…This is something that helps people,…who are just getting started with this,…learn how these tools work.…The same holds true for the pin tool.…So, let me delete all of these here.…
