Brush from trim - Illustrator Tutorial
From the course: Illustrator for Fashion Design: Advanced Drawing Flats
Brush from trim
- In this movie, we're going to make a brush from an actual piece of lace. I've taken a photo of it and opened it in Photoshop. You can find a copy of this in your Assets folder. It's called scallop lace trim. Now it's not quite perfectly straight, so we're going to do that first. I'm going to double click on the background layer and change it to layer zero so that I can transform it. We'll zoom in a little bit, and I'm going to drag out a couple of guide lines so we can make sure that this is pretty straight. Doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd like to get it as close as possible. So now I'm going to transform, Command + T, and then right click Warp, and now I can click on this and just nudge it down the tiniest bit so that this is straight. We'll just nudge down here, just a little bit, and that feels better to me, and we'll click the little checkbox. Now I'm going to adjust my guides, let's go back to this tool, and I'll adjust my guides to where I'm actually going to crop this…
