Before I go, I wanted to leave you with some additional resources that can help deepen your understanding of icons and help make it a little bit more efficient when you're designing your own. The first resource I wanted to give you guys is a script written by a gentleman named Thomas Byrne. You'll notice that here's his blog, tbyrne.org, and on that he has a post for exporting Illustrator layers to SVG files. You can also search for this on GitHub as well, but this is basically a JavaScript file that you install inside Illustrator, and he shows you exactly how to do that. It allows you to export multiple art boards and layers to different files types such as PNG files and SVGs, and set the optimization settings for each of these. If you're designing a lot of icons and using multiple art boards or multiple layers, this script is a must-have because it's going to save you literally hours of manual labor. So…
