Adding paths
- In this exercise, we're going to add the roads for the map portion of our routes icon, and to do that, we're going to explore using Paths inside Illustrator. So I have the hruns-icon file from the 03_09 directory opened up. You'll notice, again, that I have a Preview window down here and if I check my Layers, I'm working on the Routes color sublayer and all the other layers are locked down. So again, you want to make sure that that is your active layer. So currently, we have the basic planes of the map portion of the icon drawn. The problem is, we want to use this sketch as sort of a guide as to where these roads are going to go. The problem is we can't see it. So what I'm going to do is grab the Selection Tool, and I'm going to select each one of these shapes, and I'm going to swap their Fill and their Stroke. What that's going to do is it's going to sort of leave them with a Stroke that's the proper color, but no fill, and that way we can see through them and it's easy to sort of…
