- [Instructor] So now that we have our template placed, it's time to turn on our guidelines. First we need to turn on the rulers and there are two ways to do that. You can go up to View, Rulers, Show Rulers. Or use the shortcut key command+r or control+r if you're on a Windows computer. And that turns on, you can see rulers across the top and the side. Now the ruler's turned on in points, because that's what the file is set to, but if you prefer to see inches, you can right click on the ruler and switch the measurement to either inches, millimeters, centimeters, pixels. I like point so I'm going to leave it where it is. Now we need to drag out guidelines. I'm going to grab the zoom tool, and I'm going to zoom all the way in, and I can just do that by clicking and holding right here and it will zoom in. Because I want to see the center line here. You'll notice there are two lines, and that's because when we place the guide we can be a little more precise by placing it right in between…
