When you use a pattern brush on an open path, sometimes you may want to address how the ends are treated. You can easily apply any artwork you want to either the beginning or the ending of a path, or both, to really refine the lines. Let's look at how this is accomplished. Here, I've created a pattern brush out of this artwork right here, and this is what it looks like on an open path. I'm going to go ahead, and I want to address how the ending and beginning parts of the path are handled. Right now, it's just using the beginning and the ending of my line, and it looks a little unfinished. I'm going to use this artwork right here to be the beginning and ending caps for my line. In order to use this artwork for the ending caps, you'll first need to turn the artwork into a swatch.
