- [Instructor] The default font is the one Word uses whenever you open a new document. Here I have a new document and the default font is Calibri 11 points. So unless I choose another style or manually change the font, the text I write is in Calibri 11 points. Just like this. And for all new documents you create without using a specific template, that's the way it is unless you change the default font. And to do so, on the Home tab, click the dialogue box launcher in the Font group. In the Font dialogue box, you choose the font you want such as Times New Roman 12 points. This was the default font in earlier versions of Microsoft Word. And you can click the button Set as Default, and then choose for either this document or all documents based on the Normal template to change the default font. The Normal template is the one used by all new documents otherwise created by not using a specific template such as when you press the Ctrl + N keyboard shortcut to start a new document. Click OK…
