- [Instructor] Winning and losing, this is what defines the world of sports. Teams practice, develop strategies, and battle on the field in the hopes of emerging victorious. Winning just one single game can be exhilarating, but some teams turn winning into a habit. They go on some very long winning streaks. Let's take a look at some impressive winning streaks in American professional sports, specifically from the NFL, NBA, and Major League Baseball. The longest winning streak in baseball is 26 games by the 1917 New York Giants. The next longest winning streak is 22 games. That streak was accomplished 100 years later by the 2017 Cleveland Indians. Note, in modern times, baseball teams play 162 games in a season, so 22 games represents 13.6% of the entire season.
