What you should know

- [Instructor] This course is aimed at people who are already familiar with the basics of SQL Server on Windows and want to get started exploring the product on the newly available platforms. You should understand the concept of a server instance, login authentication, and know what Transact-SQL is. While we're not going to be diving deep into creating databases on SQL Server, we'll be interacting with a command line interface, and having a basic knowledge of some of the common tasks that a database administrator performs will be helpful. If you're brand new to SQL Server, then I'd recommend holding off on this course until you become more familiar with some of the core concepts. My short, 80-minute course Learning SQL Server 2017 will give you a quick introduction, and after which you'll have everything that you need to be successful here.
