What are the risks of outsourcing cybersecurity?

- [Narrator] Outsourcing cybersecurity sometimes fails. While there are many different reasons, there are two major risks you need to manage. The misalignment of goals and hidden costs. The first major risk is that you will fail to achieve some of your other top goals while pursuing outsourcing. For example, you need to keep your team morale high. But outsourcing may cause your employees' morale to be shaken or destroyed. People on your team may leave when the next good offer comes along. On a related note, the people you contract with generally won't have the same concern about your company's success as an employee might. So acts of heroism in a time of crisis may be rare or nonexistent. You also need to protect company assets. But granting the MSSP access to your sensitive data or systems can be risky and difficult to manage. What if they allow a data breach involving your assets?
