Prepare to take and pass the CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1001) exam. Learn all about CPUs, RAM technologies and features, and installing both a CPU and RAM.
- Hey everybody, it's Mike Meyers welcoming you to the second of 10 courses that cover the CompTIA A+ Core 1 220-1001 exam. This course is called Microprocessing and Ram and it's well named because we're covering, yep, microprocessors and Ram. So the first part is all about microprocessors or CPUs. We're going to be talking about the different makes and models, and speeds, and the different types of packages, and the sockets, and how you install 'em and get 'em to work right, and cool 'em down so they're nice and happy.
After that we're going to go straight into Ram. We're going to be taking a look at the different types of Ram technologies, different types of Ram capacities and speeds, and we'll be going through scenarios where we actually install the Ram and make sure it's working the right way. Keep in mind at any point if you want to you can follow along in my book, along chapters three and four.
