- [Instructor] When FreeNAS starts up, the interface that we're presented with is the console set-up screen. Here, we can configure some basic settings, mostly just networking things to get the system online so we can use the web interface to fully administer it. We can also reset the root password in case we need to make that change. I want to take a moment to talk about this in particular. Keep in mind, we got to this point to this console set-up screen without typing any passwords. The system boots and goes right to this screen. To change the root password, I can use the option seven. (typing) And, changing the root password doesn't ask for the current password, so it follows that this interface needs to be protected.
