- [Instructor] Let's talk about deploying our application on bare metal servers. Bare metal servers is just a new term for what we should already be pretty familiar with, which is deploying our software application directly on the target computer. We will have control over the physical hardware, install an operating system, and then deploy our applications on top of it. Like I said, this should be our old ways of doing application deployment, but because virtualization is such a common infrastructure setup nowadays, we use the term bare metal to define the old ways of deploying our applications. If full virtualization could provide the same guest operating system to the user, what are some of the scenarios when we do need to use bare metal servers?
