- [Instructor] So now let's talk a little bit about the tools of the IT Architect. Now, this is going to be a high level overview of some of the common tools that are out there. You may need to look into each one in much more detail if you are going to use them. Now, we're going to divide this into three main areas of tools. The first being IT governance. Now IT governance has many models and each one has its own strengths and weaknesses and specific areas of focus. So, first one is something called COBIT, which is a highly detailed governance model which defines control objectives for 34 processes to assist with managing controlling information in order to support business objectives. Next, we have ITIL, which is the information technology infrastructure library, which is a framework of best practices covering IT services and operation management.
