- [Instructor] An enterprise employs many types of hardware and software to provide a variety of services and functionality to its clients. Well what I want to talk to you about here is some of the strategies for planning on having technology refresh of this hardware and software. So first let's talk about some of the various hardware update strategies that are used or could be used. So one example that sometimes we see is just simply waiting until the hardware fails, right? Sometimes you just use it till it fails and when it fails, you go get new hardware. You obviously have to be a little bit careful with this. Because if you're going to wait until failure, that means you're going to have to be able to act quickly. So hopefully you'll have the funding and replacement hardware availability when this happens.
