(laid-back music) - Your peers understand that your business needs security, but they might say... - You're slowing me down! - Or they might say... - It costs too much! - Let's change their tune with a few collaborative ideas. So let's start with the finance team. You can work with them to create some budgetary governance. In addition to keeping you within the guidelines of your budgetary spending, you can work with them to talk about how to spend your funds wisely.
You become lean security. (upbeat techno music) Next let's talk about your sales and marketing team. Who wouldn't want more ways to sell to their customers? You can work with that team to discuss your products. Educate them on the features and the functionality that can help build trust with their customers. Human resources can be one of your best partners in creating a security-minded culture. They are new hires' first point of contact.
So as HR starts to onboard people, make sure that they instill the sense of values that creates a security-minded culture. Finally, almost every information security team will collaborate closely with your IT teams. Make sure that you have shared goals and that you can create operational efficiencies that will drive increased availability inside your business. When everyone works together on your leadership team, information security will rise to the top with everyone else being successful.
