- [Instructor] Another important component of cybersecurity in the NIST framework is protecting computer systems inside your network. To maintain a layered approach to security your organization needs to enable secure configuration standards, least functionality within and across systems, antivirus and malware protection, and system patching. First are ways to secure your operating systems like Windows server and Linux in applications like Office or a database. These security settings should be the default configuration as set in a security baseline document. Rather than figuring out your own security settings consider following the manufacturer's recommendations. Microsoft provides this for their major products.
