- [Instructor] So I've talked about how an IT architect and an actual building architect aren't that far apart. Well, similarly, an enterprise architecture plan can be compared to like a construction blueprint. Now, on a construction blueprint you'll have a foundation and that foundation right off the bat is going to kind of establish are we building a house or we're building a skyscraper? Well, similarly, we need to make a choice of platform architecture to determine what computing environment and administrative method is going to work best. So that first step would be to establish suitable standards for the body of technologies used by the enterprise. Now, some of these standards might include approved hardware platforms, operating systems, and programming environments. So you'll have to decide whether you want to standardize or not.
