The ribbon is the palette of command buttons and other options that appear atop the window for Microsoft Office applications. To show or hide the ribbon, use the Ctrl+F1 keyboard shortcut. You can also click on a tab to show the ribbon temporarily, then click the pushpin icon (on the far right bottom of the ribbon) to make it stick. Double-clicking on a tab also shows or hides the ribbon.
