- [Instructor] Let's dive into some of the specific vulnerabilities that you might face in your environment. We'll begin with server vulnerabilities. One important note before we get started, this is one of the areas where passing the exam is going to depend upon your own practical hands on experience. As you prepare for the exam, you should run vulnerability scans in your own test environment and get used to interpreting the results. There's no substitute for hands on experience reviewing scan results and getting used to the various types of vulnerability reports that scanners provide. One of the most common issues that you'll find in a scan report is a server or device that is running out of date software. You might be missing a patch from your operating system, running an outdated version of an application, or running an old firm wire version on a network device.
