- [Instructor] We've talked a lot about the responsibilities of a database administrator when preparing for things to go wrong. But what about when the database is functioning normally and the system is humming along nicely? Are administrators just sitting around waiting for the next emergency? Not likely. There are always maintenance tasks and tweaks that can be made to the system to ensure that it's functioning at its peak performance levels.
