- So let's talk about IoT security and the special needs of security systems in IoT environments. So when we look at what the core of IoT security is, we have to consider the fact that we're dealing again with the notion of identities. Identities of the devices, identities of the data, identities of the cloud born databases, basically all aspects of the system have some sort of identity that we have to keep track of. And we keep track of identities within directory services, such as LDAP or Active Directory, or proprietary directories. In other words while we're tracking each identity, and how they're able to interact one to another, and how we're restricting them, or de-restricting them. The ability to deal with encryption services such as hiding information that's flowing from devices, to the back end cloud based systems.
