- [Instructor] A scheduler can be used to activate a policy only for a specified duration. When the scheduler time begins, the policy is activated, and when the scheduler times out, the associated policy is deactivated. The following guidelines apply to schedulers; a scheduler can be associated with multiple policies, however, a policy can be associated with only one scheduler. When the scheduler is off, the policy will not be used for lookup. When the scheduler times out, all sessions associated with the policy are timed-out, only if policy-rematch is configured. To configure a scheduler, you need to be in the configuration mode. The keyword, the command to configure the scheduler is edit schedulers. Let's start with a question mark, the keyword is scheduler and let's do a question mark again. Now we need to provide a name. I'm going to call this scheduler as office hours. Press enter.
