- [Instructor] At this point, short of catastrophic global events, 5G will be rolled out all across the globe. Before we blindly accept any consequences, I want to take a moment and go over some potential risks to adopting 5G. We will quickly consider two areas, health and cybersecurity risks. Concern over radio frequency damage to health has a long record all over the world. Although radio frequencies do penetrate the human body, there is no evidence that communication frequencies have any deleterious effects on human tissue. The question remains, what about 5G radio frequencies? At this moment, there are two points to make on this risk. First, even though the wireless networks have expanded greatly in their reach, studies of the amount of radio frequencies in the environment show that radio frequencies have not increased since 2012.
