- [Instructor] The complexity of your technological environment increases both costs and support requirements. Now you'll find complexity throughout your enterprise. And there's many different reasons that this complexity might exist. What I want to do here is talk to you about some of the common sources where we might find complexity. So the first, is the application stack. Now, when I say application stack, I'm referring to the operating system, applications, services, user applications, and other solutions that together form the operating environment for a computer. Another common source of complexity is hardware. Now I have to tell you, most people think of software is driving complexity, but the reality is that multiple equivalent hardware solutions create as much if not more complexity than multiple equivalent software solutions.
