- [Instructor] USB has revolutionized computer peripherals. Please don't let me explain how bad things were in the old days. Still, USB comes in a variety of shapes and connectors. Key are the type A connectors. This connector is used on USB hubs, and typically adorns one end of all USB cables. The exceptions are the type C connectors, which are nifty, because they can be attached in any orientation. The other end of the cable sports a variety of connectors. Type B is often used for peripherals. Mini-USB connectors are popular on media gizmos, like digital cameras and video recorders. Micro-USB is used to charge phones and other gizmos. The A connector however, has another interesting property. It's color. This color appears on the connector in the port. It signifies which USB standard is being adhered to.
