- [Instructor] Let's talk about private clouds. Now, first and foremost, private clouds typically are not going to be something that a small business would leverage because cost efficiency is going to be paramount to your selection of technology, and obviously leveraging private clouds means you're going to own hardware and software. Private clouds are only for use when you want to own the hardware and the software because that's basically what it is. It does have the characteristics of a cloud. However, it does exist in your data center, you own it, only you can use it. Public clouds rent resources, and they own the hardware. Ultimately, this is about you owning the hardware and renting resources. So private clouds, as I mentioned, are enterprise owned or leased. So in other words, you own the hardware, you own the software, you basically run everything about it.
