- [Instructor] Privacy programs provide organizations with a framework for implementing consistent privacy practices across the organization and monitoring ongoing compliance with those practices. One of the most important tasks of a privacy program is establishing accountability for privacy requirements. Establishing accountability ensures that one or more people are directly responsible for meeting the organization's privacy requirements and it reduces the likelihood that privacy obligations will be forgotten or overlooked. Establishing accountability should begin with identifying an individual in the organization who bears high level and organization-wide responsibility for privacy. In some cases, this is a full time employee dedicated to privacy work who is given a title like chief privacy officer or director of user privacy.
